“There is nothing more fulfilling than experiencing the self-confidence our patients develop as the result of the beautiful smile we create for them.” – Dr. Barbour

Dr. John Barbour has specialized in the practice of orthodontics for over 41 years. In that time, he’s had the privilege of having a positive influence on the lives of many people. Dr. Barbour feels truly humbled when he encounters one of his former patients in the community, and they thank him for their smile, and even more so when they bring their children to him for treatment. It is this trust that Dr. Barbour believes is the greatest compliment he could receive.

  • Bachelor of Science – Indiana University, Bloomington, IN
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Indiana University Indianapolis, IN
  • Master of Science in Orthodontics – Indiana University Indianapolis, IN

Wanting to become a dentist from a very young age, Dr. Barbour was very focused on pursuing his dental education. But, after practicing general dentistry for five years, he found that his personality was such that he found it more satisfying to do one thing and doing it very well than trying to do many things, as required in general dentistry. Dr. Barbour left his general dental practice and began his two-year residency in the specialty of orthodontics. Since then, he has attended professional meetings and seminars every year to keep current with new developments in all areas in dentistry and especially orthodontics.
